The Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 requires organisations to implement security standards and procedures that correspond with the information being stored. It is in these rules that ISO 27001 has been identified as one such standard that provides the adequate security framework to maintain data security.
